CTRL+CRY comes in with no session log because there was no session, not in the sense the vault usually means — no room, no other players, no false starts we can point to and say here is where it changed. lolgorithm made this alone on a cracked laptop with a broken E key before anyone here knew the name, and the record arrived already finished, already scarred, the way a thing looks after it has been listened to a million times before you ever pressed play. The bio says the whole project started from a 40-second joke about crying in a mall food court that got looped into the ground overnight, and you can hear that math on every track: a private moment run through public math until the decimal points come out as hooks. lol i'm fine :) sets the terms — the smiley is the whole argument, and the track never once breaks form to disagree with it. dopamine.exe is the closest thing to a thesis, 148 bpm, sidechained candy synths compressing something real down to a size that fits a feed, drum hits timed like a notification you can't swipe away. held by a hologram is the one to sit with last — same density, same synthetic gloss, but it's where the crash and the feeling stop competing for the same half-bar and just sit there together.
Catalogue this one under: no rejected takes, no vetoed session, nothing shelved wrong — just an act who built their whole discography before AFAR existed, in the dark, alone, at a tempo that never once slows down long enough to ask if the joke is still funny. The vault doesn't get to contextualize the room here. It only gets to say: listen for the seam between the punchline and the gut-punch, because on this record it is stitched shut, not hidden — and that stitch is the whole record.
