ABOUT

Nite Route is the alias of a South London producer who works only in the dead hours, laptop balanced on her knees on the last N-numbered buses out of the city. Between 2 and 4am, with the top deck empty and the windows smeared with sodium light, she stitches beats around voicemails she never called back — permission, in a way, granted only by silence. The results are cold, skeletal UK garage: shuffling 2-step underneath breath and whisper, sub-bass that hums like a diesel engine. She refuses studio time, saying the room ruins it. Three EPs have circulated with no press shots and few interviews. What survives is the feeling of a phone lighting up at 3am with a name you're avoiding, and a route that only goes one direction: away.

The last bus is a room. I record in it.
